Commentary:
September passed us by swiftly. This will be a short post.
Both the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan chose to hike interest rate by 25 basis points. As the Middle East conflict persists, crude oil price continues to hover around the US$100 mark.
Looking at the benchmarks, the S&P 500 Index edged 0.45 percent lower MoM. The tech-heavy NASDAQ 100 Index went on reverse direction and closed 3.23 percent higher MoM. Locally, the Straits Times Index finished down 1.38 percent MoM, while the iEdge SGX Next 50 Index ended 2.24 percent lower over the same period.
As stock prices remain elevated, I did not execute any trade in September. My dry powder is saved up for better opportunities down the road.
Until next time, take care!
