A Question to Myself

Pondering a question out loud to myself:

The underlying resilience in the Straits Times Index (STI) is mind-boggling. Are local investors truly oblivious to the worsening global outlook, or do they believe Singapore can emerged unscathed when other countries are suffering?

We shall see.

  1. You first time in SG market? The higher the climb, the steeper the fall. When you look at the STI, it didn't go up that much unlike the DOW, S&P and Nasdaq. In fact, I don't even think STI beat its 2014/15 highs yet. With such a low climb, why would it drop much and fast?

    1. Hello Philip, you are right. Thanks for reminding me that STI didn't rally like the other equity indices over the past decade.
